Paper #1
Pick a perspective which is different from your own, but which you find either interesting,
or challenging. Research the perspective to come to a better understanding of it. You could choose the other
side of an issue you feel strongly about, such as the death penalty or U.S. military action. Or choose
members of a group you don't know much about, such as being gay or Muslim in small-town Ohio. Write a paper
explaining the topic you chose, and describing that point of view objectively, without letting your own
point of view slip in. This section should be 4-5 pages.
When you have completed your paper, write a section in which
you examine what the other perspective taught you about yourself. This conclusion should be at least a page.
Conduct at least two interviews. If you use additional information from books, magazines, or reputable websites,
you need to document your sources, so take notes and keep track of where your info came from.
Save yourself time by recording the sources you look at in MLA format in the first place.
